Thank you to the Boise Basin Quilters for donating four (4) new sewing machines to Syringa House for sewing projects done throughout the year for the girls by a group of dedicated ladies. These ladies are devoted to teaching our girls life skills and therapeutic projects with various organized sewing activities each month. All of our sewing machines are donated, used machines, and although we appreciate what we have, the older machines cause many problems during activities, and our volunteers spend much of their time getting the machine to work verses working with each girl on their sewing project.
Now with these four new machines, plus additional machines we will purchase, we can continue to offer sewing activities for the girls. Success is not just measured by how far or how well a girl works to complete the program; it is also important to reflect on other accomplishments for the girls such as learning new skills like sewing as well as interacting with community ladies who care about our girls.
